Royal Botanic Gardens Kew : HLF Grant

image courtesy of RBG Kew, Temperate House The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew has been awarded a Stage I pass for an HLF grant of 15m to restore its Temperate House. The Grade I listed building is the largest surviving Victorian glass structure in the world.

GVA RGA greatly enjoyed working with the successful bid team and supporting them with the development of their application to save this fantastic building. Plans will be drawn up over the next two years for the final lottery
submission. Kew have already launched a campaign to raise the additional 13m to complete the restoration.

Kew celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2009. It was awarded World Heritage Status in 2003 in recognition of its unique cultural landscape and welcomes over 2 mn visitors annually to the gardens.
