Doubletree by Hilton Lincoln : Feasiblity Study

Doubletree by Hilton logo In 2009 we were approached by a client who had an interest in a site in central Lincoln at Brayford Wharf. This is an inland marina and the City Councilís has designated it as a priority development within the city as part of its overreaching tourism and economic development. The new University of Lincoln campus is based there as well as a state of the art multiplex cinema, restaurants and entertainment venues.

GVA RGA produced a feasibility study which was positive and the brand decision was for Doubletree by Hilton. Doubletree was a new four-star brand from Hilton introduced to the market in 2008, focusing on high quality service and facilities with a contemporary style, which will compete in the upper quality market. The brand is aimed at the business traveller, with hotels placed in major urban centres. There are about 200 Doubletree hotels in gateway cities, metropolitan areas and leisure destinations internationally, and in the UK there are now 13 Doubletree hotels with another twelve in the development pipeline.

The Lincoln hotel is planned to open in 2011 with 115 rooms, rooftop restaurant, a bar, fitness centre and large conference and event space.
