National Trust for Scotland : Robert Burns Birthplace Museum : HLF

National Trust for Scotland logo GVA RGA has been involved with this project for a number of years and our programme of original market research informed the concept for the new facility. Our Business Plan for the new museum, including detailed financial projections, was a core element of the funding application submitted to the Heritage Lottery Fund.

We were delighted when the National Trust for Scotland, was awarded a National Lottery Grant of £5.8m and Scottish Executive funding of £7.6m towards the cost of the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum.

The vision for Burns' Birthplace is “to build a new museum facility which, alongside the existing Burns Cottage and other significant heritage buildings within Alloway, will offer a unique interpretation of the life and work of Robert Burns, enabling visitors to learn about his great contribution to Scottish literature and world culture and to inspire and engage current and future generations to become more involved in heritage and cultural activities.”

The museum opened in December 2010. To find out more follow the link:  NTS Robert Burns Birthplace Museum
