Edinburgh Printmakers : Strategic Operational Review

Anne Forte : Ruby Slippers Edinburgh Printmaker’s domestic and international reputation rests on over 40 years of innovation and excellence in print making. The studio is an open access facility, used by members, students and professional artists. A range of courses aims to increase involvement in printmaking, as well as working in the fine arts market, commissioning editions and providing a service to corporate purchasers. Facilities consist of a linked studio, archives, and galleries situated in an atmospheric ‘steamie’ in Edinburgh’s New Town.

Edinburgh Printmakers wanted to position themselves for the next forty years, and commissioned GVA RGA to develop an organizational review and business plan for the coming years, and to consider the future options for the organisation. Key areas under consideration included the contribution of Printmakers to both Edinburgh as an artistic centre and destination, and the creative sector of students, artists and printmakers in Scotland and further afield. Future plans would respond to the aims of existing members and investors, and to opportunities presented by international developments in print making and in Scotland’s creative economy.
